n. (botany) A cruciferous plant, with four petals arranged in a cross

Examples of cruciferous plants include cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli.

Somehow, I've gotten this far in my life without knowing this word. This amazing, badass, death-metal-band-name word. I feel like parents everywhere are burying the lede.

EAT YOUR CRUCIFER.

Thanks to [personal profile] full_metal_ox for teaching me this word!
